Shabahang Tayyari
Shabahang Tayyari’s practice moves between visual art and writing. His work explores states of anxiety and hope, as well as innocence and corruption. Using play, humor, and subtle manipulation, he works with texts, images, ideas, and meaning. His game-like strategies bring together provocation and delicacy, allowing wit and darkness to coexist.
Shabahang Tayyari (b. 1987, Khalkhal, Iran) lives and works in Karaj. He has presented solo exhibitions at Delgosha Gallery (Tehran, 2016–2017), ZKU (Berlin, 2018), Raf Projects (Berlin, 2016), Etemad Gallery (Tehran, 2014), and Maryam Fasihi Harandi Gallery (Tehran, 2011). His work has recently been included in group exhibitions at Balice Hertling (Paris) and Giardino Segreto (Milan), among others.
He is the director of Delgosha Gallery in Tehran since 2016.
